Most 4Eternity functions are designed to work locally on the user's device. This includes the astronomical prayer-time calculation, Qibla bearing calculation, Tasbih counting, Dhikr journal entries, language/theme preferences and many other settings.
Where possible, these values remain on the device and are not uploaded merely because the feature is used.
4Eternity can use location information to calculate prayer times, select a suitable time zone or regional calculation method, calculate the Qibla direction and distance to the Kaaba, and improve location-related features.
When the live compass is activated, 4Eternity may read device-orientation and motion-sensor data to align the on-screen compass with the physical device. This sensor data is processed locally for the Qibla display and is not intentionally uploaded to Shadowless Studios.
If an AR or camera-assisted Qibla feature is activated, the browser or operating system may request camera permission. The camera stream is used locally to render the live view and directional overlay. 4Eternity does not intentionally upload or store camera images or video on Shadowless Studios servers as part of this feature.
Depending on the feature used, 4Eternity may store information locally in browser/app storage, including:
Users can remove this local data by clearing the site's/app's storage or uninstalling the installed app, subject to the controls provided by the operating system/browser.
When the online city/postcode search is used, the entered search term is sent to the Open-Meteo Geocoding API. Open-Meteo returns matching place names, coordinates, country/region information and time zone data. The browser may cache selected results locally for faster and offline-friendly reuse.
Open-Meteo may receive technical connection data such as the user's IP address as part of the normal network request. Its own privacy terms apply to that service.
4Eternity can optionally prefer authority-published online prayer times for supported calculation methods. When this option is enabled and a supported provider is available, the app may contact a Shadowless Studios server-side gateway. The request may contain the date, selected location name, country code, coordinates, time zone and selected prayer-time method so that the correct authority data can be identified.
For Diyanet, the gateway can query the official Awqat Salah service using a resolved city identifier and date. Technical provider data and per-city/per-date results may be cached server-side for a limited period to improve reliability and reduce repeated external requests.
If an official source is unavailable, not configured or fails, 4Eternity automatically continues with local calculation. Users can disable preference for official online times in the app settings.
The Shadowless Studios website and supporting web endpoints are hosted using hosting infrastructure. When web pages or server endpoints are accessed, technically necessary connection data may be processed in server logs, for example IP address, time of access, requested resource, browser/user-agent information and HTTP status/error information. Such processing is required for secure and stable operation and troubleshooting.
4Eternity provides a discreet “Report a problem” function. Activating it opens the user's own email application; 4Eternity does not send a report automatically.
The prepared draft may include basic diagnostics such as the current page URL, selected language, browser/installed mode and time zone. Exact GPS coordinates are not intentionally prefilled into the support email. The user can review, edit or remove all content before sending.
If an email is sent to shadowless.studios.eu@gmail.com, the message is processed for support and troubleshooting. The user's own email provider and the receiving email provider may process the message under their respective terms.
The current 4Eternity web/PWA implementation does not require a 4Eternity user account and does not include third-party advertising. No third-party behavioral analytics SDK is intentionally integrated into the current web/PWA build. Technical hosting logs described above can still occur.
Local app data remains on the device until it is overwritten, cleared or the app/site storage is removed. Support messages are retained only as long as reasonably necessary to handle the request, maintain security or meet applicable legal obligations. Server-side technical caches are kept only for the time needed to provide and stabilize the relevant function.
Where the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies, processing may be based on performance of a requested service, legitimate interests in secure and reliable operation, consent/permission for device capabilities where required, or legal obligations. Depending on the circumstances, users may have rights including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and data portability, as well as the right to lodge a complaint with a competent supervisory authority.
Privacy requests can be sent to shadowless.studios.eu@gmail.com.
This policy may be updated when 4Eternity features, external providers or legal requirements change. The current version is the version published on this page.
